In detail

WordPress is an excellent tool when used well. But 80% of the WordPress sites I audit are in a dire state: heavyweight themes (Avada, Divi, Bridge) loading 5 MB of scripts, layers of gimmick extensions, no security, sluggish throughout. My approach is the opposite: a lightweight child theme — an overlay that customises without touching the base — resting on a solid theme (Astra, GeneratePress) or fully custom, ACF for custom fields (input areas shaped to your content), Gutenberg, WordPress's editor, for updating pages, and a speed setup that actually holds.

Beyond the brochure site, WordPress covers two uses it is less associated with. First the content-heavy site, where structure matters more than design — sections, templates, internal search. Then the "headless" use, where WordPress is only the backstage while an ultra-fast front, generated with Next.js or as static pages, faces the public: you gain speed and security, you lose instant preview.

That setup belongs to the Premium package. In every case updates are not optional: a site left unattended ends up compromised.

Why not Divi, Elementor or Avada?

These drag-and-drop page builders are convenient, but they load a huge amount of unnecessary code that badly slows the site down. When speed matters (Google visibility, sales), I prefer a lightweight custom theme. For a personal blog, Elementor remains acceptable.

How much does a custom WordPress site cost?

Professional showcase site: €2,500 to €6,000. Advanced features (member area, connections to other services, multilingual): €6,000 to €15,000. 'Headless' build (storefront developed separately for speed, WordPress + Next.js): €12,000 to €30,000.

What is the typical delivery timeframe?

Showcase site: 4 to 8 weeks. Complex site: 8 to 16 weeks. 'Headless' (storefront built separately): 10 to 20 weeks. A precise schedule at project start.

What about WordPress hosting?

Is WordPress secure?
