Custom theme

A theme in your image,
not a repainted template.

A marketplace theme looks roughly like you, with fifty options you will never use and a weight that drags down your Core Web Vitals. A custom theme starts from your brand and your buying journeys, and ships only what helps sell. I design it and build it on your CMS — PrestaShop first, but also WooCommerce or Shopify — without ever touching the core, so your updates stay updates.

In detail

The work starts with the pages that make the revenue: the product page, the category, the cart and the checkout. They are designed first, as mock-ups, with your real products and your real photos — a theme designed on placeholder text falls apart at the first product name that is too long. The home page comes after, not before.

At build time, each CMS has its proper way: a child theme on PrestaShop and WordPress, a clean Liquid theme on Shopify. In every case the core is untouched and overrides are documented. The CSS is hand-written, without a thousand-class framework; fonts are capped at two, images are served at the right size and format.

The result is measured, not promised: a mobile Lighthouse score above 90 on the delivered pages, and navigation that works with a keyboard and a screen reader. You receive the theme, its sources and a one-page guide to run it from the back office — colours, banners, home blocks — without coming back to me.

Features

What you get.

01

Designed on your products

Mock-ups built with your SKUs and your photos, not placeholder text. Product page and checkout first, home page after.

02

Three CMSs, one method

Child theme on PrestaShop and WordPress, Liquid theme on Shopify. The core is never modified.

03

Light, measured

Hand-written CSS, two fonts at most, images at the right size. Mobile Lighthouse > 90 on delivered pages, measured before delivery.

04

Accessible

Contrast, keyboard navigation, form labels: the theme meets the accessibility criteria that matter for a store.

05

Update-safe

No core file touched, documented overrides: the next CMS version doesn't break your theme.

06

Run it without me

Colours, banners, home blocks adjustable from the back office, with a one-page guide.

07

Multilingual-ready

Translatable strings, a layout that holds when German runs twice as long as French.

08

Sources delivered

The theme, its sources and its documentation are yours. Another integrator can take it over.

FAQ

Frequent questions

How much does a custom theme cost?
Between €3,500 and €12,000 excl. VAT depending on the number of templates and the CMS: an eight-template PrestaShop store sits in the middle. Fixed price, set after scoping.
Why not an €80 premium theme?
It's often the right choice to start. It stops being one when you spend your time working around it, or when its 400 KB of scripts weigh on your mobile conversions.
Do you also do the design, or only the build?
Both, or the build alone if you already have mock-ups. In that case I review them with you first: a screen designed without the CMS in mind is expensive to build.
Will the theme hold up on the next CMS version?
Yes if it is built by the CMS's rules — child theme, documented overrides — which it is. A major upgrade may need an adaptation pass, quoted separately.
What about SEO during the redesign?
URLs don't move, tags and structured data are carried over or improved, and I compare rankings before and after the switch.
